June 11the "Down In The Reeds"

I was hanging around our local lake when I saw this Red Wing Black Bird watching me. I thought, there is my painting if he'll stay. So I grabbed my easel and hoped for the best and sure enough the Red Wing hung out and posed for me.

June 10th "Lilac Cabin"

What a nice day it was to paint today. With a cool breeze in the air and a clear blue sky I came upon this charming cabin and to my luck it just happen to have some lilacs next to it. So, I unpacked the gear and began to paint. It was wonderful, the air was heavy with the sent of lilacs.

June 9th "Little Cub Lilacs"

Well, the Lilacs that I have been waiting for to bloom are now blooming like crazy. One of the nice things about this is that it's literately just down the street from me. I love Plein Air 365™painting in my neighed, yah!

June 8th, "Hillside Lilac"

What more lilacs? Yes! I love painting lilacs, oh, did I mention that already. Well, I thought since this will probably be my last full year of daily plein air painting that I would paint more of the things that I truly enjoy, hence the many lilac scenes.

June 7th "Roadside Poppies"

As I was out today I spotted a great patch of poppies a-popping in the little town of Idledale. I couldn't resist painting them, so I set up the easel and painted some roadside poppies. The down side of painting today was my camera was dead so I only got one shot of scene and it was without me in it. No matter it turned out better with out me in it.

June 6th "Adobe Lilacs II"

I have been eyeing these wonderful lilacs that are down the road from me in a little town called Kittridge. There is a small park area filled with lilacs and I love painting lilacs.

June 5th, "Hazy Range Trail"

Well, it seems that I forgot to bring my camera today when I headed out to paint, but I didn't let that stop me from painting. When I was out today I saw a great view down one of the valleys of the hazy sky from the fires in Arizona. Hard to believe that a fire in Arizona would give us in Colorado such a smokey sky. None the less it does create some wonderful sky colors.

June 4th, "Indian Paintbrush"

While I was at Mt Falcon today I saw this fantastic little indian paintbrush. I cant believe how this little flower can produce so much color in the dry prairies of Colorado. I thought, what a nice spring flower. I can't walk away from this kind of color. So, I broke out the easel and began to paint.

May 31st, "Between Light And Shadow"

I was at a local antique store and saw these old wagon wheels and was intrigued with how the light and shadows were one them. So I set up and tried to paint them before the shadows were completely changed, that was about 20 minutes.

June 2, "Poppies"

Finally its that time of the year for poppies. These are my next favorite flowers to paint. They can be bold with color and yet have the look of paper. What a challenge to paint, I love it! Today I found some poppies down the canyon and they just glowed and said to me "Paint Me", so I did.
